Sometimes in France, you stay in tiny hotel rooms where you can do this:
Tonight I am on a top bunk with a much more gracious amount of headspace. Today is our day off. We woke up in Dudingen, Switzerland, and drove back to Luzern to stay in the venue we played at a few days ago. They have a room with bunk beds, a lounge, and a washer/dryer/shower room. We are pretty cozy. There is talk of doing some Meryll recording with Andrew. There is talk of walking about for a cinema outing. Today in a pizza-Kebap shop I watched Swiss MTV and saw a video of a collaboration between Lady Ga Ga and Tony Bennett. ?!? what in the world. That was followed by one featuring Avril Lavigne rolling around on the ground with green hair. I suppose it makes sense that MTV is entirely bizarre all over the globe. Today in the pizza-kebap shop I also ordered my food without any English. And I learned that Pepperoni is definitely a false cognate. (not meat, just actual peppers).
From my window I can see mountain tops. It's silent in our room, as we're all fixed on our own individual screen time. It's 5:30pm and we're operating by lamplight. The sun goes down so early here! I'm excited to creep down into the abandoned venue room, hopefully alone, hopefully not freaked out by the fact that we can't find any lights, and play some guitar by myself for a while. BUT, for now, I think its time to get to work on that Meryll song I spoke of.
tschüss!
